How hard to get a taxi from hotel to board President Prime

We are booked to go on President Prime next month, from Chongqing. We have currently declined the travel agency transfer from hotel to pier due to extremely high price.

The agency stated: Usually we have a guide escorting the clients onboard so that they will not miss the departure port. However since your clients have only purchased the cruise package and the cruise company will not notify the departure port one day before scheduled time, so the clients need to ring that emergency number to confirm.

Is there likely to be a problem? I expect we will ask the hotel to phone the emergency number the day before boarding and also ask them to relay the instructions to a taxi.

What would the estimated costs for a taxi be from Somerset JieFangBei to the pier for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

Thanks!

Taxi is 10 RMB, it can seat you four all if you don't take too much laggage. Exact port number is not clear till the day before departure, this is true.

You can ask the agency for contact telephone of your ship or ship dispatcher (not sure if english available).

Boarding time is the whole eveing, you will have plenty of time to check in.

It's not a big deal if you'll onboard at chaotianmen pier, in chongqing.

I once took the cruise from YIchang to chongqing and the cruise staff made us disembark at Fuling, which is 2 hours' drive from chongqing. Fortunatelly, the cruise company manage buses to send us to chongqing.

So if you'll unfortunately need to onboard in Fuling too, it will be a lot of money to get there from chongqing.

But as OrientalRed said, you have the whole evening to onboard. There is enough time to handle if it really happens.

Here a two links:

The first showing location of the docks - I don't think the locations of docks are correct when compared with google maps, however it give you some idea where they are:

The most difficult dock to find is the one on this link - in addition if not prepaid you will have to pay 2rmb for traveling down the cable car
