24hrs in Nairobi: Things to do?

I will be landing at 9PM and my next flight is the following day.

I have the option of flying out the next morning at 8:30AM or at 5PM..

Is it worth taking the afternoon flight in order to spend some time in Nairobi?

Traffic on the roads is a mess @ the moment. The sooner you can catch the connecting flight, the better.

Agree with Stefani, go for a morning flight out of Nairobi. With the flight at 5 pm and taking into account traffic, the time you have to be at the airport for security check and check in, you hardly have any time in Nairobi really.

Where is your flight on Day 2 taking you to? Tanzania? Elsewhere?

If to Tanzania or some others if in Africa, remember that a Yellow Fever inoc and proof of same is required for entry.

t'll be tight, but with arrival Day 1 at 9pm, you'll be at hotel around 11pm.

Next morning Day 2, with early breakfast/start... you can visit Karen Blixen House, Giraffe Center and Sheldrick (this one only open 11am-12pm), maybe some souvenir shopping or not, pick-up lunch (not many choices at airport)... then head to airport for ongoing flight.

For 5pm flight, check-in/security is minimum 2.5/hrs prior departure. And mid-day NBO traffic is a horror. So even if you're fortunate to arrive at NBO airport early... better than being late.

Good luck!
