This is a family-run and owned tour company. I had some issues getting my 1/2 deposit to them, but this was resolved by using Western Union. I booked a 4-day tour from Nairobi-Amboseli-Mombasa-Lake Nakuru. This was a long drive, something I didn't anticipate since the distance of the drive was deceivingly short. The only other issue was that it took us double the time to get to Lake Nakuru (5hrs), despite there being no traffic.

Besides this, Leah was amazing! She provided great service and is a wonderful personality to deal with. Accommodations were great at Serena Amboseli--although I would avoid staying at Traveller's Hotel in Mombasa. I would highly recommend this agency.

Contact Leah at info@flyingdovetours.com. They have a website as well.

Hi travel friends. Not quite a year ago I posted asking about info on Flying Dove, with out much response. So I am back now to tell you that I choose Flying Dove for a 14 day safari in Kenya because Leah was exceptional at answering ALL my questions and fine tuning our safari to see and cover everything we wanted. We were four adults that were personally escorted by an expert driver/sharp-eyed guide to 9 wildlife parks. The game viewing was everything we hoped it would be AND MORE.

As everyone reports, most roads are bad or full of traffic...a necessary evil - just like airlines flights this day and age, Most wildlife parks DO turn off the electricity during the day and approximately 11PM to 6AM at night - so plan for that. That also affects the availability of hot water - so try not to be disappointed about that because everything thing else is so over the top---it will be one of the best trips of your life, at least it was for me.

Each of us paid $2700/pp for the entire 14 day safari with 1/3$ wired upfront. We stipulated budget to low moderate housing but 9 of the 14 nights seemed to be 4 star lodges and tents. The rest were adequate. ALL included breakfast lunch and dinner and a morning and afternoon game drive or all day drives (3X).. They picked us up at the airport, stopped at chemists when one of us got a toothache, provided all bottled water, full narrative drives, answered country questions as well. We saw many of the big fives, all of the big nine and large herds of wildebeest and zebras.

If you can't tell, I highly recommend Flying Dove Tours and Travel for itinerary planning, value and honest interaction;

I can't say enough good about the help that Leah, Simon and Kelvin gave us. Everything they planned came off perfect..

We just returned from a 14-day tour of Africa's Parks & Reserves and it was miraculous! The vast expanse of land these animals have to roam free, unbothered by the dozen or more tour vans, was unbelievable. We had a great time - thanks to Leah @ flying dove tours and our excellent driver/guide- Kevin. Everywhere you turned, there was more & more to see. Leah did a great job of setting up our itinerary, accommodations & drives. She's very experienced & professional. You'll truly enjoy taking the tour of Africa. All the people were friendly, helpful & a pleasure to meet.

We (4 adult female sisters) used Flying Dove Tours for our 14 day safari. It was AWESOME! We had started planning a year ago and Leah and Flying Dove hung in there and answered all of our questions and set up our safari per our specifications. Our accomodations were a mix of tent camps and lodges and all were excellent. One of the tent camps was a little more rustic than the others, but was most certainly within my comfort level. We could not have asked for a more excellent guide, Kelvin. He has a wonderful personality and the way he could spot the animals and his knowledge of them was truly unbelievable. By the 2nd or 3rd day we had seen all of the big 5, and then we could focus on seeing them up close (which we did, lions and leopards and elephants walked right by our jeep) and watching them for longer periods of time to see them actually interact which each other and with other animals. Some of the roads are not the best and some are quite congested, but that was minor compared to our truly fabulous trip. If you are thinking of taking a safari, I would very highly recommend Flying Dove and make sure Kelvin is your guide.

Last month (October 2013), I had an international business trip and Flying dove tours through their ticketing department came up with a very competitive fare package that saved me a lot. I managed to go on my round trip and achieved all my goals. I found the experience they have in choosing the best airlines quite impressive. They also arranged accommodation for me all through my two week business trip. Madam LEAH, thumbs up and keep the service level up.

I will consider your services again and again and recommend same to my friends.

Welcome to TA to all the newbies and great to read all your first posts.

Being nosey, (apart from the OP) why haven't you posted before? We could have answered all your pre-trip questions. I'm also inquisitive to know what's brought on the sudden gush of praise for this safari company?

Just came back from a two week vacation in Kenya. Flying Dove provided excellent service at a competitive price. Leah was responsive and really helpful. Upon our delayed arrival in Nairobi both Samuel and Kelvin, our driver/guide waited for us. We spent 10 days with Kelvin visiting Massai Mara, Nakuru, Lake Baringo, Amboseli, the Tsavos. Watamu and Mombasa. Inteligent, kind and passionate. We were lucky to have him with us. Dispite the rough Kenyan roads we had a great time. Thanks Flying Dove :)
