Just read this report, no tourists were on board and crew members were rescued.
I think its one of the cruise boats that has been docked near to the El Luxor and has not been in service for a long, long time. Not 100% sure though.
This isn't really that rare these days, LoL !
Late last year there was a large Nile cruise boat that was burnt out and had sunk right outside the Sheraton.
The 'word' on the street (or the river) was that it was an 'insurance job'.
The boat in fromt o f the Sheraton has been there years . There are rather a loy of boats docked up and look like they wont sale again .I think they should be taken to the scrap yard.
Not the one I am referring to hasn't suzychuck, it was there when I visited Luxor early last year (having NOT been there before) and then it had gone when I returned a few months later, you are thinking about a different boat, as, like I originally said, this kind of thing isn't particularly 'rare'.
an what about the other wrecks going to denderah on the lotus
Was on the Lotus on morning of the 27th and saw a cruise boat partially submerged as we were leaving Luxor. Wonder if it was the same one being resurfaced?!
hiya weird how u duin ? if you are on the lotus and not long after you set off on the same side of the nile which the luxor temple is on theres a sunken boat there thats been there a few years
Thanks Maggie. Thats the place. Was wondering why nobody around it seemed to care much!
When crossing the Nile on the local ferry, look towards the museum end of the new corniche and the boat can be clearly seen. It is on the riverside of some other boats.
was it the crocodillo . was looking at one 2 weeks ago.
