Which Nubian Villages to Visit?

greetings! would anyone be able to advise out of these three islands mentioned below, which one is most preferable to be visited with a felucca (we're interested to explore colourful villages, less touts, interesting corners/streets of daily local lives)? are they of the same characteristics, so we won't go wrong with either? what about the route there via felucca, which would be most scenic?

a) Elephantine Island

a) Gharb Sahel/Sehel

b) Gharb Aswan

any advices or recommendation would be most appreciated!

Elephantine Island can be seen from the East bank of Aswan ( the main tourist area ) and is only a very short sail to it or a 5 min motor boat or ferry ride.

If you only have a couple of hours It is very interesting to visit.

If you have plenty of time and are looking for a scenic sail then Sehel Island is ideal. From memory I think it took us a couple of hours to sail there, lots to look at, past the whirly type pools of the 1st cateract, hibiscus tea to drink made on the felucca.

When we arrived one of the crew took us to the "hill"where all the inscriptions and carvings are, a bit of a walk but well worth it, from the top the views show a different type Nile. We were the only tourists there.

We were able to go to a village house and use the toilet, it was immaculate.

We had lunch ( provided ) on the felucca on the way back, and we sailed back between Elephantine and kitcheners Island.

We used Capt Habibi 's felucca, you will find him on the Nile behind The Isis Corniche Hotel.

We also used him to collect us ( pre arranged ) from our afternoon on Elephantine Islandand, also to go to the West Bank whichis well worth a visit ( hardly any tourists ), with a little tourist Souk just north of where the Ferry lands

Walking along the crest of the sand dunes near Tombs of the Nobles is one of my favourite memories, views unbelievable.

Aswan has a lot to offer, so hope you enjoy it.
