Nobody can say yes or no because nobody has a crystal ball and can see what the future holds be it tomorrow or next week. All you can do is read up to date posts on here, consult any appropriate governmental travel advice and decide if it is safe enough for YOU to travel. Thats not a decision anyone can make for you.

Dokki is across the river from downtown, Tahrir, and the other trouble spots lately, and there have been no problems there. In general, Cairo is a very large city, and there can be violence in one place while the rest of town goes about life as normal. Places like the pyramids, Citadel, Islamic Cairo and market areas, have all been unaffected by unrest.

It is true that nobody can tell you whether there will be demonstrations and clashes next week, but it is also true that even when there are, there is not a general threat to people who avoid those areas, which tend to be just a few blocks.

The problem you are most likely to encounter is not being able to get to the Egyptian Museum, just off Tahrir, if there are serious problems. But even when Tahrir is occupied (as now), the museum is still open and people come and go.

I spent (woman on my own) a week in Cairo at the end of December. The riots in Cairo made the news everyday & I was very worried that I would not be able to venture out of my hotel. However, I walked miles around Cairo every day, travelled on the Metro (Ladies carriages) without any bother. I found the people in Cairo very friendly and helpful, especially the young women. There were some demonstrations but they were peaceful. At no time did I feel unsafe.
