To All Considering a Trip to Egypt,

Go and have a wonderful time. It is extremely safe. We returned on the 3 July, 2012; I can assure all that, we (two, 60 year old females) saw no sign of any type of demonstration, trouble or violence during our 3 week tour. It was easy to get around as there aren’t the usual great numbers of tourists. We stayed in Cairo at Sofitel, great hotel, flew to see Abu Simbal, must do, Nassar Cruise, Could leave this out, Nile Cruise from Aswan, fabulous, Luxor Sheraton on the Nile for 2 nights, just fantastic. Then flew to Sharm el Sheik. Great place to unwind after lots of site seeing.

We used a company in Egypt called Vantage Travel International. I communicated with a few Egypt based companies. I finally decided on this one as I was lucky to be dealing with Sherif El-Warhab, who seemed more knowledgeable and on the ball than the others. Also this company has an Australian NSW address. This I felt could be insurance as we live in NSW. I found I was correct in choosing Vantage.

We were picked up, always on time in a clean and good size van. Our guides – chosen by Sherif were excellent through out the entire trip. All the hotels were 5 star quality and excellent value. The Nile Cruise was wonderful. He organized our balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. A must do inclusion to any trip. Sherif always answers any questions you have with clarity. Everything we requested was included. Our tour price was great value for money and very competitive.

Sherif is an excellent organizer in all and nothing is a problem for him!

Before we left Australia we had a few internal plane cancellations. I contacted Sherif who immediately and efficiently organized all necessary transport and accommodation changes.

We were lucky to have found him. Thank you Sherif!

B - You say you returned on quote "3 July, 2012" - Have you looked at today's date?????

Being one of the forum cynics, having seen so many attempts at company promotion on TA, can I assume you meant 3 July, 2011 and that you have been asked to post this just before the year is up and the topic becomes closed? (It happens on here frequently)

Else why would you suddenly decide to write such a glowing advert nearly a year later on a dormant topic?

You are correct I mucked up return date. It was 3 April, 2012 that we landed home. The reason I posted on what seems to be "a dormant topic" is I couldn't quite work out how or where to post my thoughts. Leave a review didn't allow me. Yes we have just returned from Egypt and all was exactly as stated. I wrote report as I thought it would be helpful for others and to let anyone considering going to Egypt that it was safe. I'm too old to bother playing silly games - retired teacher.

It isn't overly clear, but, at the top of every topic is a blue link 'Ask a Question'

TA assume that forums are for asking questions and that 'reports/reviews' will be in their correct place.

So, to start a new topic on the forum, you click the 'Ask a Question' link.

Just got back from Cairo and a Nile River Cruise. No nothing about the tour company in question. We used TSC Travel based in Turkey. They did an excellent job. No complaints.
