Visa for Burma (Australians)

My husband and I are flying to Burma this weekend. We leave from Bali - KL -Yangon. When we booked the ticket we had read that we can apply for a visa on arrival however today someone mentioned they don't allow it anymore. We are from Australia and currently in Bali, Indonesia.

Can someone tell me if we can apply on arrival or will we have to cancel the trip? HELP. I've looked at several websites and most say we have to apply prior and given we don't have the time to send passports away I just need someone to confirm the process please.
