Myanmar Shalom Travel Agent

Hi there

Has anyone dealt with Myanmar Shalom agent recently?

Any recommendations seem to be a bit dated.

I hope to book with them and have had a good quote but they do take some time to reply. If that is just down to them being busy then it is fine as long as they are a good agent.

Thanks

We used Myanmar Shalom in December. They planned and executed a great trip. The agent in New York always replied quite promptly.Have you tried contacting them thru their website? They are creating some more escorted tours.

All Agents take time replying-due to poor internet and communications with hotels etc.

There have been sound reports here and on Thorntree about this old established Agent.

We just returned from a 13 day trip to Myanmar, organized and executed brilliantly by Myanmar Shalom! They saw to every detail and the proprietor, Sammy, was most helpful in assisting us with planning the trip. Their tour guides in each city were outstanding as was the itinerary. We took 4 internal flights and they were on time and quite impressive. Myanmar Shalom's prices are also extremely competitive with other tour providers.

HELP- Does anyone know a way of contacting Myanmar Shalom other than leaving a message for Sammy (unanswered!) or email?

They have created a personalized itinerary for us and we are due to leave on Jan.3, 2013 but have had ho luck contacting them regarding final payment, documents, etc?

Any ideas???

Sammy takes some time to reply. Don't worry, he will arrange everything for you. We just came back from Myanmar using Myanmar Shalom. It was a wonderful trip, with great guides and the lowest tour rate I found. We paid on arrival. Don't miss Kakku and Inlay Lake. Have a look at the unique floating garden and lotus weaving at Inlay Lake and thousand pagodas at Kakku. Bring some souvenirs for the poor kids. I will definitely go back to Myanmar again.

Just got back from 16 amazing days of touring Myanmar all ably and meticulously arranged through Myanmar Shalom. This is not an easy feat now as the tourist infrastructure, with the recent mad dash to this newly opened country (including Obama, the day after I arrived) is bursting at the seams. Sammy, in N.Y. and his sisters in Myanmar took care of every detail- from visa-on-arrival (a lot cheaper than arranging it through Ottawa), to 5 internal flights, to prompt drivers and guides in each place, to wonderful 4 star hotels. Sometimes the latter differed from our original itinerary, I gather because of lack of availability, but never disappointed with alternatives.

I highly recommend dealing with Myanmar Shalom.

We too recently came back from a 13-day trip to Myanmar that we organised through MyanmarShalom. Their service was faultless, and they were extremely helpful when we had to reschedule our entire trip only a few weeks before arriving in Yangon. I also appreciated being able to pay in advance via PayPal, to save me from having to shlepp large amounts of money half-way across the world.
