My Itinerary in Myanmar

Hi,

Travelling to Myanmar later in the year. Fly into Yangon for two nights. I then have 9 nights elsewhere in Myanmar. At the end I have two more nights in Yangon before flying to Vietnam.

What is the best way to spend the other nine nights? I would like to meet the people where the women have the rings around their elongated necks. Are they near Inle Lake?

Was hoping to see Mandalay, Inle Lake and Bagan.

What would be the best way of travelling?

Would this work:

Yangon to Manadalay by air.

Boat from manadalay to Bagan

Plane from Bagan to Inle Lake

Fly from Inle Lake to Yangon

Having nine nights to spend, what is the best way to divide the time between Mandalay, Bagan and inle Lake. Will do day trips when based in Mandalay.

Is there any other place worth visiting?

Thanks.

The possible plan for 9 days is ,

1.Yangon - Mandalay by morning flight ( Innwa , Sagaing , Amapura )

2.Mandalay ( city tour and Mingun )

3.Mandalay - Bagan ( express boat run on request / slow boat on WED/SUN )

4.Bagan

5.Bagan - Heho' by morning flight - Loikaw ( 6 hours by car to the Padaung, tribe area , Remark ; need prearrangement from Yangon base travel agency )

6.Loikaw ( explorer to Padaung villages )

7.Loikaw - Phekon by car - boat to Sankar and carry trip to Inlay lake

8.Inlay lake full day sightseeing

9.Inlay lake - Yangon by flight

Hope to enjoy for your trip with this alternative program and looking the feedback on forum. There are a few Padaung women on Inlay lake , but around Loikaw area is their native and the most beautiful landscape and Phekon - Sankar - Inlay lake boat trip is amazing.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

Would you know the name of a Yangon based travel agency where I can get the prearrangements for visiting Loikaw? Could I organise this whil I am in Yangon or do I have to arrange before entering the country?

Would I need a guide to visit these villages in this area to see those women with the rings around the neck or are tourists permitted to visit freely?

Thanks for the travel ideas.
