What to do in 4 days

Hey guys, me and my partner are heading to Vanuatu in Oct for 4 nights. What do people recommend us doing? We are 28/29yo active people who like a bit of adventure.

So far I have looked into Off road adventure, Oceanwalker and Lelepa Island Tour. Any other things we can look into doing? Open to all suggestions. Also we are looking at taking $1000NZD (77737 VUV) for lunch, dinner and activities (accom+breakfast sorted).

Many thanks

Have a look at the Things To Do link at the top of this page but you would probably like Jungle Ziplining, or even abseiling down the Cascades. If you are doing the OffRoad buggies be aware that the local kids don't have toothbrushes so bring some of these to give out rather than crappy lollies that the tour will try to sell you.

Have fun choosing what to do...you will have to come back again as time will fly!

Hey P&L thanks for the reply. We had read on here about items for the kids and were thinking school items but the toothbrushes sounds great. How many would you advise us to take 20-30?

My Husband and I where in Vila last July last year we done heaps of activities, We went on a buggy tour unaware that we should not be giving lollies to the children so paid 500vt for a bag of lollies. We also done abseiling It was amazing. Sun set horse ride was nice. Par sailing went fast approx 15 mins in air prob not worth the money. We done two tours with Eco tours a bush walking one and a kayaking. They where both great and we got too see so much. We done a round island tour seen things we would of missed if we where just driving our self We also hired a buggy (French man something wheels) and drove ourselves around. This was so much fun way better then the buggy tour highly recommend.

Hi Todd, if its just for the buggy tour probably 20 will do (and a few little tubes of toothpaste?).

If you do a Round Island Tour you might also visit a school so any stuff for teachers is always welcome eg chalk, cheap exercise books etc.

Have fun!

Other items that are useful are sports equiupment, particularly balls. You can bring them over uninflated but bring a small pump for them as well. The kids here love sport and they are very athletic but often lack basic equipment.

Depending on your budget, the Tours to see Tanna Volcano are an excellent adventure and available as either an overnight or daytour, but the overnight is my recommendation!! Just google for Tanna Air Tours!!

Give the gardens a miss, its way over-rated.

Ditto to taking school supplies and sports equipment.

Todd,

The Havannah will relax the hell out of yous fullas - or you may become bored. But there is no argument it is an outstanding resort in an oustandinding location.

Although it is a long and winding drive from town, Port Havannah now has 2 restaurants within close proximity of your accommodation, both which are very good. Wahoo and Francesca's, conveniently situated smackbang next to each other (funny how cynical an ex can be), both have particularly good food, decor and location.

Definately do the Coongoola Cruise, which is located just up the road, it'll be the best money you will spend in Efate. Being a Waikato man, you should ring in advance to ensure they have nough beers on board - but you will need to settle for Tusker, no Waikato in Vanuatu.

Hiring a quad for getting around is good fun, but I don't think appropriate for getting into town and back. But choice for getting to the restaurants and around closer places to where you are staying.

Around to the north and east there is Emua jetty where you will find a boat to take you out to an island for the day or further around, past Paonangisu, you wll find a new bar/restaurant at La Mer that specialises in horse riding up into the bush and highlands, it is in a beautiful location.

I hope this is helpful
