Getting to Vanuatu

Can you fly from the US to Vanuatu or do you have to go via Sydney? i.e. could it be a stop over if flying from the UK?

I don't think there are any direct flights from the US, but there are flights from a number of places - New Caledonia, Fiji, Auckland and Brisbane as well as Sydney.

Air Pacific flys from LAX direct to Nadi Fiji. Air Vanuatu has flights from Nadi to Port Vila.

However as Selsy mentioned Air NZ to Auckland and then PV, or various airlines to Brisbane Australia, with regular flights to Port Vila with both Virgin and Air Vanuatu, and twice per week direct to Espirito Santo.

Unless things have changed and I cannot see this change, is there not still only one flight per week in and out of Santo direct via Air Van? In on a Tuesday from Brisbane and out on a Sunday from Santo? Would be nice if it was more often but we are grateful for the weekly minimum.

the quickest way to get here from usa is with air pacific through fiji. the lax-nan-vli connection operates couple of times each week, other days will require a stopover in fiji. you will most likely find this the cheapest option also. go to airpacific.com to check out schedules and prices, which are around $1350 inclusive
