Where should a single female should go?

I have hit a wall trying to figure out where i should go in the pacific.

I am female and traveling alone and want to have a short holiday (1 week) that has....

good eco tourism/nature activities

good nightlife and socialization

no kids or not many

and not too commercial

I was thinking of Vanuatu then thought it was more of a 'couples' destination.

Any ideas?

Hi There,

You should have a look at Moorings. There is not much night life in Port Vila but Moorings has its own night club. I have never stayed there but it looks nice on the website. Its called a flashpackers supposed to be up market back packers. Check out their website and have a look. It is also walking distance into town and its fairly new.

Hope this gives you some ideas

Hi there,

As far as eco-tours go, you really should consider Tanna, particularly Mt Yassur (active volcano). It was a once in a lifetime experience for us!

Tanna is quiet but this forum has some great reviews on 'Friendly bungalows' which are closer to the volcano and more back-packer style and I would guess would offer more in socialisation etc.

Tanna also has unbeleivable snorkelling, the kustom village (i.e. untouched by western civilisation) and other tours to blue caves and other beautiful places.

We stayed at WhiteGrass which is more couple oriented and expensive, but their sight will give you an idea of what tours and activities you can do on Tanna. Check out:

Also, use the Search field near the top of the forum posts to find other info on Mt Yassur and other Tanna accomodation.

You'll love Tanna! We're dreaming of moving there.

Hope this helps - k
