9 days in Bolivia

If I just have 9 days in Bolivia, would it be enough for Uyuni and Lake Titicaca? Too rush?

9 days is enough, including travel time.

If starting and ending from La Paz, your itinerary would look something like this:

Day 1: arrive in La Paz, travel to Uyuni. 2 options: bus La Paz to Oruro plus train Oruro to Uyuni - or - direct bus La Paz to Uyuni.

Day 2: arrive in Uyuni and start Salt Flats tour

Day 3: Salt Flats and lagoons

Day 4: lagoons and back to Uyuni; evening bus back to La Paz

Day 5: arrive La Paz, bus to Copacabana

Day 6: Isla del Sol tour (Isla de la Luna)

Day 7: return to La Paz or onward travel

The rest of the time you can spend by adding an extra day in La Paz or an extra day in Copacabana or an overnight stay on Isla del Sol.

Happy travels!

Many many thanks on your itinerary help.

Is it that there is now a direct flight from La Paz to Uyuni which can save a lot of time? How reliable is the service?

I am not sure whether I can get used to the altitude, and so does not prefer to take overnight bus. But what is the travelling time between La Paz and Uyuni by road, and La Paz and Capacabana by road?

Copacabana is about 2 hours from La Paz.

It's probably as reliable as any other flight in South America.

Reliability isn't really worth worrying about. It is not Switzerland.

It is now my plan -

Day 1: arrive in La Paz, acclimatise

Day 2: La Paz

Day 3: flying to Uyuni and start Salt Flats tour

Day 3: Salt Flats and lagoons

Day 4: Salt Flats and lagoons

Day 5: Early flight from Uyuni to La Paz

Day 6: bus to Copacabana, overnight Isla del Sol

Day 7: Isla del Sol tour, going to Puno

Day 8: Puno in the morning and then leave

Does it look OK? I am worrying that I will be spending too much time in La Paz. Especially, anyway that I can more gainfully used Day 5? Anywhere to travel to ? Either day trip from La Paz or should I spend the night elsewhere?

If you are interested in historical sites then Tiwanaku is a good day trip from La Paz. You would have to be back in La Paz fairly early to do it on day 5 though. Or, you could do it on day 2 and leave La Paz for day 5.
