Hotel Esturion de Montoya (La Barra)

Does anyone know anything about this hotel? Is it a good location? It's about the only one I can find available in La Barra in early February. Thanks!

Ok, it looks like La Bluette has rooms as well. Which of these two hotels (Esturion de Montoya or La Bluette) would be the best for three single guys in their 30s? Thanks.

If you want to have fullnight nightlife it is ok - from 9pm until 7am there is party around and no way to sleep!

So for party people ok but not for families.

The so called suites are appartement not quite nice but expensive.

The breakfast is poor, a bit like a youth hostel for 500 $ the night.

I would not recommend to stay there at all!!!

Have you tried La Posta del Cangrejo? I will be staying there for a week early February. Many people have recommended me that hotel, is located in La Barra as well.

TexasKyle... For 3 single guys, I would not recommend LaBluette. We stayed there. I cannot aptly describe the "experience"; however, it is like you are staying in someone's house. The owners are fabulous, but I do not want to be someone's house guest when I am on holiday especially paying premium prices. Furthermore, the "amenities" will neither wow nor inspire you. Personally, I would rate the hotel 3-stars. If you take away Hugo & Alicia (the owners), I would rate it 1.5-stars. Check on availability at the Mantra. If it says they are booked, call them directly. We were on the waiting list there for 7-months and it never "cleared"; yet, when we arrived and went to the front desk they had rooms.

Hi Texas !

I live in jan.06 in La Bluette with my girlfriend and in other room my three

friends.

Great hollydays !! Hugo & Alicia 10 points !

All restaurants and Disco that reccomend are

the best !!

If you like to live in a traditional big

hotel, don´t go to La Bluette. Make your

reservation in Conrad or Mantra.

La B´tte is other concept, more european, like in the french provence or Italy or the

South of Spain.

Two different ways to live the life.

You choose !

Texas,

I'm in my 30s and traveling alone in mid-Feb., just booked La Posta del Cangrejo (28 rooms), right on the beach, decent prices and it was written up in a recent article in National Geographic Traveler mag. It's 4 miles east of Punta and in La Barra (from which I gather most of the activity is located, restaurants, clubs, etc.) and is supposed to have a great restaurant. I looked at www.posadadelfaro.com and it was my first choice, but it's too far out. That's my two cents, I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. Mantra seems to be more of a resort and casino-type hotel.
