duty free

i was informed by the travel agent that it is illegal to take alcohol into abu dhabi, can you buy it on arrival as in dubai or is it that you can only buy alcohol on departure any help before 2nd november would be greatly appreciated.

as you come through arrivals there is a duty free shop which im sure you can buy drinks and tobacco along with other items.from what i can remember there are beer and spirits,not a huge range but quite adequate.normal limits apply on the homeward leg

Andy is correct, you can go through the duty free shops on arrival, your allowance to take into Abu Dhabi is; 2000 cigarettes; 400 cigars; 2 kg tobacco; 2 litres of spirits and 2 litres of wine (non-Muslims only) and perfume.
