Trip Report - Dubai/AbuDhabi

HI guys thought I would copy and past my next few trip reports onto this forum aswell as the Dubai forum as we spent the last 4 days in Abu Dhabi. Hope you like it and it's helpful.

Got up to enjoy our last glorious breakfast at AlMuna Restaurant Mina A Salam. Youngest paid a visit to see Jesus as he was so good with him and we wanted to thank him for all his help. Jesus asked Hubby to complete a Comments card for him I believe they maybe get some sort of bonus if they get a certain amount or something like that. We were only to happy to do this for him. After Breakie we managed to fit in our last visit to Wild Wadi at 10am. Also gave the kids their last Buggy ride it was all very emotional! Only stayed at the water park long enough to go on our favourite rides then headed straight back to the hotel for showers etc. I must add as we had two rooms we made a deal with the hotel that morning that we would check out of the kids room after breadfast so they had early access to it on the understanding that we could keep the other room until 2pm. It meant we had plenty of time to shower and change and finish the packing without a rush around. Called down to reception and they sent up a porter to collect our luggage which the concierge was going to store for us. After a final farewell to our beautiful room we went downstair to the lobby, checked out then had some coffe/soft drinks in AlSamar Lounge along with some Club Sandwiches and Banana Splits! - Really Fine! My Auntie and Uncle from Abu Dhabi arrived while we were there. Uncle was picking up all our luggage! He was a work a meeting in Dubai so came in past just for the luggage! - Bless him. Auntie arrived with her car also and joined us in a Banana Split! Then we got her to take some photos of us outside the hotel overlooking the waterways so that all 5 of us were in it.

All jumped in the car, word of warning to you all if you have any guests that come to the MAS in their cars the fee is 50DHS to have it valet parked unless you are a guest so Hubby signed the form for my Auntie so no charge and car was brought back to the door for us.

First destination was Sharjah, The Blue Souq, went there two years ago and loved it so Auntie promised to take us back there. Takes a good hour or so to travel there due to the traffic and we did get a little lost as lots of new roads along the corniche. Ended up with a police escort onto the right road! A young police man was only to happy to show us the way he even got out of his police car in the middle of the highway to give us final directions we couldn't believe it! he really did take his life in his hands none of us were brave enough to step out of the car so we just let him come to us!

Arrived at the souq and set to work shopping. Managed to get another kingsize bedspread perfect this time and very similar to the one I bought two years ago but in a different colour. Kids bought lots of bits and pieces and I got mini silver boxes etc. for presents and I collect them. So after three hours we were all shopped out and it was time to head towards Abu Dhabi it was going to be a long drive.

The roads leaving Sharjah are much easier to negotiate so no problems there. It was back through Dubai and straight up SZRoad towards Abu Dhabi. Had to stop at a filling station not far from Jebel Ali to get youngest some warm Milk as he was getting rather cranky now. Arrived Abu Dhabi at around 8pm and went straight to Pappagallows Italian restaurant down by the Marina. Met Uncle and two cousins there only tables left were outside but even though it was hot it was a nice change to eat outside and youngest was happier there running around the table and there was a grass area that all the kids were running around on so he was happy getting some freedom. Meal was lovely and restaurant very nice but I believe the whole area is gettin flattened and rebuilt some time soon there is lots of changes going on in Abu Dhabi the public beach is now on the Corniche across the water from the Marina Mall and the Marina area is all changing soon.

Back to the Auntie & Uncles house next to unpack and get organised for the next day. A wee drink and off to bed.

Part 10 soon - Shopping in Abu Dhabi!
