Recommended places to visit in Oman on a short maiden visit

Visiting Oman early September on a business trip. Meetings will be over in 2 days in Ruwi, Muscat. We 3 partners seek suggestions from experts to guide us explore best places to visit in 5 days. First two days have to spend at Ruwi, Muscat for business and then we are free to move anywhere the other 3 days. We don't mind exploring beaches and mountains of Oman.

You are also welcome to suggest accommodation. In Muscat, beach side hotels no problem if close proximity to Ruwi. We prefer accommodation in newly built, fresh hotels in Oman.

Cheers,

You can take 2 nights out of Muscat and stay in Nizwa and Wahiba Sands. During these days you can visit Nizwa, go to Jebel Shams or Jebel Al Akhdar, enjoy dune driving and overnight in the desert and get back to Muscat via coastal road. It will be a bit hard but you will enjoy it.
