Holiday Inn Amman

My husband and I are coming to Jordan in February for a tour. We arrive in Amman a few days prior to our tour starting and need a place to stay. We happen to have a credit card that gets us essentially free nights at the Holiday Inn Amman. Is there any reason this wouldn't be an adequate place to stay as we explore the city and surrounding areas? It looks like it's in the business part of the city rather than the downtown, but is this manageable via taxi or buses? Any other thoughts?

If you have free stay at Holiday INN take it that is fine.

It is in West Amman the new Amman and there are few good restaurants around that area.

If you want to experience the old and traditional Amman you need to go to downtown souk, ruins, and local eatries

downtown and Rainbow street where all tourists attractions are.You can take a taxi by meter cost around 3-4 jods.the problem is peak time could take half hour for the ride each way..

Cheers

Holiday Inn Amman is located in the west side of the city, on a walking distance from a little shopping plaza and getting to downtown from the hotel is not an issue, you can have a yellow cab in a blink of an eye whenever during the day. Stay at it and you'll enjoy your time there.

It is not a problem at all for its location since you will book a car through a company or by yourself to rent ( ity is up to you), so it is not that far, i think it is location is good and you can do whatever you want if you arrange.
