Getting to King Hussein bridge

Hi, I will be in Amman for 1/2 day on Monday march 25th. Well actually a full day, but need to be in Jerusalem by 5pm that night. I was wondering how long it would take to get from the city center to the king Hussein bridge, cross and get up to Jerusalem, all by taxi. I understand that there is a Jewish holiday around this time. Will that effect the crossing? Thanks in advance, Cathy

Hi Cathy,

the Jewish holiday you mentioned is the Passover - March 26 - April 2.

Amman to KHB is around a one hour trip, but plan to be there early (8 ish) as the crossing could take up to 4 hours or more.

ciao

March 25 is the eve of Passover. I am guessing that the border crossing hours would be similar to those on a Friday (the eve of Shabbat) - in which case the crossing will close at 3 pm. However, holiday hours have not been announced yet and there may be some changes, where the crossing might close even earlier. I suggest you check again closer to the date in question.

The suggestion of being there early is the best - to avoid any difficulties.
