Amman / Petra / Dead Sea

We are visiting these areas mid to end of October , can anyone tell me from previous experience, what the weather is likely to be like at that time of year? Many thanks. Susan

Hi Susan,

First visit was in October, and weather perfect in Petra, though cooler in Amman. So much so that I remember having to buy tights in Amman.

Have a lovely trip; Jordan is amazing.

Hi... weather should be quite nice in Oct.

In the South (Petra, Wadi Rum & Aqaba) it will be pleasantly warm (20 C to 25 C) whilst in Amman it will definitely get cool in the evening (around 12 C) Amman is at an altitude of approx 3000 feet above sea level.

Also remember that Ramadan, the fasting month, starts on 13th Sept and will finish on 13th Oct, then it will be National Holidays for 3 days (Eid El Fitr). Ramadan can be pretty boring unless you enjoy Shisha, cards and drinking lots of tea.

Enjoy your trip, Jordan is truly a wonderful place to visit.
