Best Jerusalem Neighborhood for a 5-day stay

Thinking about renting a flat at the end of May for my husband and myself. We love to walk everywhere, but would like to be close to the main sites. I was hoping for the German Colony, but can someone recommend a few other good neighbrohoods? What about Emek Refaim?

Thanks.

Emek Refaim and the German Colony are one and the same and a good location, you can also look at any apartment in the center of town or Rechavia.

Rechavia is a good neighborhood and it's kind of in the middle of the several main areas.

Thank you, I just realized that they were one and the same. Sorry I didn't do my homework!

I wrote a review Emek Refaim as attraction not as business . It was accepted. I do not understand why it is not published

Magora - you're probably better off asking that question on the TripAdvisor Support Forum:

It takes a few days for a review to be published. If you have waited a week and it still isn't there then ask. :)

We are staying in the Emek Rafaim neighborhood now and just love this area. It's a nice oasis away from the heavy tourist districts downtown. The main street has a good variety of cafes, restaurants, groceries and stores, most of which are not the large chains or tourist traps found elsewhere. Additionally, within a relatively short walk, you can be find a modern shopping center with all the conveniences or you can take a nice walk along the former train path. Parking can be a challenge but not significantly different from other areas of the city. Within a short walk or bus ride, you can be downtown, in the old city, near Yemin Moshe etc.

My vote is for Emek Refaim as well. A beautiful 20 min walk to the old city. A real neighborhood. Nice stores and restaurants.
