Rdglady's advice is good. If only two days, I'd stay with Jerusalem and a 2-3 hour visit to Bethlehem. Galilee involves lots of driving time, and you just don't have much time. You can spend a week in Jerusalem and not come close to exhausting its wonders.

Actually what we are trying to tell you, Chicago, is to jump ship and fogedaboudit. There are so many wonderful sacred, ancient and wonderful sites in Israel that it is hard to pick among them :-)

yes, I know but that doesn't help when you are trying to plan something to a place you've never been.

I think you need to take a deep breath a be realistic ( despite the comments of some here) You will be in Israel for less than two days. For you it is a port stop! Pick a few areas of high interest and visit them. Jerusalem and Bethlehem were your first choice and most likely your best. Consider this time an appetizer for a trip to Israel. You don't "cruise" for one night and consider it a real cruise experience, same for Israel. You can spend months and not see everything there is to see. ---then next vacation can be Israel! -:)

Depends what you want from a visit.

Traditional holy sites, friendly people, etc.

Church of the Nativity

Milk Grotto

Shepherd's Field ( Beit Sahour)
