you can check the timetables and fares on www.egged.co.il

you usually need to reserve a ticket/seat in advance for this long distance trip so they know how many people will be travelling and how many buses to arrange

Eilat to Jerusalem is 4.5 hours from the Central Bus Station in Eilat and costs 70 shekels per person. There is luggage storage under the bus. Tickets must be purchased in advance (either by calling the bus company Egged or in person in Eilat's CBS), within 2 weeks of travel and up to 2 hours prior to departure. The tickets are collected at the Eilatomat at the bus station.

You don't need a tour to drive you from Eilat to Jerusalem. You can take the bus to Jerusalem and join a tour there. The buses are safe, comfortable, modern and air-conditioned.

With a five-hour journey in each direction, it's obviously not a day trip. You can stay in Jerusalem for two nights, and consider one of these tours:

Flying via Israir or Arkia is also an option and would be about the same time (maybe less) door-to-door for the 35 minute flight. It would cost probably 300 shekels plus 64 shekels for the Nesher shuttle to your lodging.
