visiting Petra from Ein Bokek (Dead Sea)

Will be travelling by car (rental) through Israel.... I know it is not possible to croos dthe border with Jordania with an Israeli car, but...

Can i leave the car in the Isareli border (Wadi Araba Crossing border / Yitzhak Rabin Border Terminal) and cross walking to take a bus or taxi there?

Is it safe?

Yes you can leave your Israeli rental car on the Israeli side of the Arava border crossing. There have been numerous reports of people who have done this, leaving the car there for a day or two and then picking it back up when they return.
