Advice on zimmerim, please

Having been watching the awful news helplessly we really want to show our support so have decided to visit Israel as soon as our airports here in the UK settle down again!

We keep hearing about “zimmerim” – does anyone have specific recommendations up north or can anyone give us a good web site that advertises them?

We really like the sound of a country cottage with a jacuzzi! Rural and luxurious!

Thanks

I once stayed at the zimmerim on Moshav Almagor, north of the Kinneret (Galilee). It is really lovely. No jacuzzi, and you will need a car to get there, but a very beautiful place where you can pick your own grapefruit from the trees. The rooms are pleasant and the people who run it are wonderful - it's family run, and they will welcome you with homemade food.

Try www.zimmer.co.il/english and www.weekend.co.il. They have Zimmerim all over the country with photos of the rooms. Zimmerim are mostly owned and operated by families. Nice places are in Rosh Pina, Amirim, Beit Hillel, Migdal (this one overlloking the Sea of Gallile). These places are small towns and have many Zimmerim. Do you have a special place you would like?

There are literally thousands of tzimmerim. Always look for ones with pictures of the rooms. If they show scenery that meas the rooms are terrible. Many have jacuzzis but look for something called 'Spa' or 'American Spa' which is a double size jacuzzi.

Sites to start with in english:

If you can handle hebrew:

http://www.tzimmer.com/
