Travel from Tel Aviv to Rosh Pinah

We want to visit relatives on kibbutz Kfar Hanassi not far from Rosh Pinna, We are staying in Tel Aviv, what is the best way to get there. We do not drive ourselves. We want to maximise our day with family so don't mind starting early and coming back late.

This is not an advisable one-day trip by public transport. You have to take the 842 bus from Tel-Aviv to Rosh Pina and that takes 3 hours each way. You have to add the traveling time to the bus station in Tel-Aviv and from Rosh Pina to Kfar Hanassi (which I'm sure that your relatives will arrange or instruct you) so you will be on the road for a total of about 8 hours !!

You can check bus schedules at www.otobusim.co.il

Suggest to stay over night in Kfar Hanassi or Rosh Pina to be able to enjoy and avoid such long travel hours in a single day. Rosh Pina has a lot of attractions to offer

You can take the first bus in the morning and the last one back at night. The bus goes to Kiryat Shmona and stops near Kfar Hanassi as well.

Note that if you take the bus from the Tel Aviv central bus station it goes from the 7th floor of the EGGED side. There are two sides to the 7th floor and they are not linked, so if you find yourself in the wrong part you'll have to go down again to the 6th and start again.

The bus also picks up at various places in Tel Aviv, so depending on where you are staying it might be more convenient to go to one of those stops.

Don't take the 841 route as it is extremely slow, taking a very long route and stopping at zillions of places on the way. The 842 and 845 are quicker.

IIf you check www.otobusim.co.il you will see that both the 842 & 845 also stop at the Arlozorov terminal on Namir Road, so you can avoid the Central Bus Station. However the bus might be full when it arrives at Arlozorov.

I think you can fly to Rosh Pina from Sde Dov on a domestic flight.

Tel Aviv-Rosh Pina is not recommended as a day-trip, as the distances are relatively large.

However, if you insist you can use the regular domestic flights service (as dcweymouth suggested) from Sde Dov airport in Tel Aviv (code: SDV) to Rosh Pina airport (code: RPN) by a company called "Ayit". There are 2 flights a day in each direction, you can catch the early flight that departs at 7am from Tel Aviv and get back at the evening by bus. This will sure maximize your time, if you don't intend to stay up north.

Ayit's website is unfortunately only in Hebrew () but I'm sure you can make the reservation in English: 050-4780099 (or +972-50-4780099).
