Hotel/Appartment Advice

Hi,

I'm planning a trip to Istanbul for my girlfriend's birthday in October and am looking for some advice on which area to stay.

We'll be staying for 4 nights and would ideally like to be situated close to the main sites, up to a 20 min walk or short tram ride would be fine.

I haven't quite made a decision on whether a hotel or appartment would be best - I like the idea of staying in an appartment, particulary if it had a balcony or somewhere we could sit and eat breakfast for example so am open to any suggestions.

Budget is around £100 a night, up to £125 if it's really worth it and although I've looked at the top recommended hotels on here, none of them have really stood out or caught my eye.

Any advice appreciated.

If you want to stay in the historic district of Sultanahmet, check out the Grand Peninsula Hotel, Sultanahmet Suites or the Hotel Alaturka.

Thanks, I've already had a look at the sultanhmet suites and they do look very nice and ideally situated.

Does anyone know if I need to place a deposit in order to make a reservation or is the payment taken in the same way as it would be in a hotel?

Another Hotel I was considering was the Hotel Tulip House although I'm not sure if this is more of a B&B..?
