Sri Lanka Visit

Two of us , above 60 years, both male , would like to take 4 days break in Sri Lanka.

Like to see historical places with Colombo as base , as we will fly in from Kochi, Kerala. We are Indians.

Would like to stay near beach ; budget about USD 50 per day room. Car and guide for a day or two .

Timing , next week .

Please advise re visa as well.

Colombo is not a good base for visiting historical places.Any town in the cultural triangle will be better.

If you do want to stay near a beach, in Colombo, then search for places in the suburb of Mount Lavinia. Negombo ( a coastal town near the airport) is also an option.

And if you insist on a beach base (next week is expected to be as bad intermonsoon weather, with again risk of flooding as now): here

some tips of things to see esp. outside the beaches.

All the best,
