Tuk tuk from Ella to Tissa

Hi everyone

We are going to Ella in a couple of days and are considering getting a tuk tuk from ella to tissa. How crazy an idea is this? Any idea of cost? I know it is a long drive but think it could be quite fun? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Ella to Tissamaharama is approx. 90 km, i.e. approx 3-3.5 hours in a tuk tuk. Too far IMHO.

Price should be approx. LKR 3,000-3,200.

Thanks Hans. Surely it must be more comfortable than a bus tho?

Hi

That's Crazy :)

Why don't you hire a private car. That will cost you almost the same.40 LKR per KM with the driver.

Anyways It's about 110 KM from Ella to Tissamaharama.

That's a VERY unlikely price if it's for a one-way transfer. Indeed it is possible for a roundtrip though the going price used here in the forum is Rs 45/km. One-ways cost Rs 70-75/km at least, as the vehicle has to expect an empty return ride.

All the best,

We got a tuk tuk from negombo to Colombo yesterday and that was far enough! Great fun but our longer stretches we will use a car... For safety and comfort. Also we are noticing you need to duck your head a bit to see properly which would be annoying on a long trip.
