Thanks for quick answer.

I found a good websid for my question

…purdue.edu/newcrop/…Harvesting

60-100 nuts per year and 70-150 trees per 100m²

But cost of one coconut in Sri Lanka still unknown?

The number of nuts varies according the usual agricultural variables a well-cared-for tree may yield anywhere between 50 and 150 -.... yes, maybe 200 in an exceptional year,

For prices look here:

incidentally, ..... if you're thinking of investing, the price has gone sky high recently, which of course is good news for coconut growers but this has resulted in a lot more coconuts being planted, which of course could mean a fall in the price as soon as the new growers enter the market. Although, its fair to say that this hasn't happened with rubber (but then again, China's demand for coconuts doesn't match it's demand for rubber :--)

I read that coconuts kill more Sri Lankans each year than snakes. I once saw one fall to the ground in Galle, in the centre of 3 guys having a chat. If it had hit one he would have been a gonner. I make sure never to sit under a coconut palm tree.

Last year a king coconut by the roadside cost 40 rupees.

Its by far the cheapest and most refreshing drink available. After you have drunk the milk the guy will chop it in half with a machete and give you a carefully chopped off piece as a scraper and invite you to eat the insides.

It beats the fizzy drinks by a mile.

If it has doubled in price it is still a bargain.

I was lying on a sunbed outside a hotel in Hikkaduwa in February when a large coconut fell from 80ft to the ground, just missing an old lady by a few feet. If it had hit her, she would have been dead. Most hotels do have a guy going up the tree's everyday to chop the old ones down, along with dead branches
