Which resort for 2nd visit?!

Hi everyone,

As you were all so helpful with our first trip I thought I would seek your help again for our second. Having had a fabulous time at Kuredu we have totally struggled to find somewhere elsewhere that matches our expectations, looked at Cuba, Antigua, Mauritius even the Seychelles!

We stayed at Kuredu Island Resort for 14 nights in one of the 'O' Resort Beach Villas! Fab room , fab resort, fab beaches, food, drinks, service, weather, everything perfection! So this year we want the same, but a teeny bit better we just can't find anywhere that screams out 'come here'!

Has anyone been to Kuredu and then went to another island for their next trip and loved it more/just as much?

We must have all inclusive!

Beach villa accommodation - with great views (Kuredu was unrestricted)

Our budget is £4,500 - £4, 700 (MAX)

Please help us! Everywhere we're looking just doesn't match/beat Kuredu! And although it was fabulous we want to try elsewhere.

Also if anyone knows any other tour operators that specialise in Maldives trips let me know..

We used Destinology last year and are looking to book with them again, and are looking at Kuoni but others would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

We also did kuredu in a OBV and loved it ;-) our next isiland was vilamendhoo,a smaller island but with all the amenities that kuredu offers including adult only areas ,I think this would make a nice next island for you ;-)

Check out our reviews on both islands .

Good luck

Darryl

Try Purely Maldives - they have been outstanding to deal with so far

Check out Athuruga, Thudufushi, Komandoo, Maafushivaru or Veligandu - all of them are very good. The first 2 have great AI, but they are all small and we would not hesitate to go back to any of them.

Kerri, it's a nightmare, we call it maldivitus, you will quite literally never have a beach holiday that compares anywhere else, so will need to do other types of holiday elsewhere and then beach holidays in the Maldives,

Maybe post your budget, for how many days and what time of year, plus what you liked about kuredu specifically, and people can advise.

As said by nclemad, try purely Maldives, or if it's a kuoni only holiday, try travel lab or travel designers who are both kuoni agents and beat them on price.. Don't use kuoni, they are simply too expensive.

However If not kuoni exclusive, purely Maldives seemingly have great prices, and I know for a fact they know what they are talking about when it comes to resort recommendations.

Sort out your island/destination first and then worry about which agent.

What exactly did you like about Kuredu as it wouldn't be most forum members first choice.

Do you want a big island again?

Were you happy with the snorkelling or would you like better?

Entertainment?

Peace and quiet or busy?

Give us more clues.

Hmmm. Not sure I agree John, purely Maldives could show what was in budget and the forum can then help from the choices given. But unless a kuoni agent only choice, I'd be quite comfortable in asking them for recommendations of what was in budget.

However agree that the op should say what they like on a resort.

John/FroggyEngland..

We are looking to stay for 14 nights (days allocated for travel either side of this)

Budget around £4500 all in all.

All inclusive a must.

Beach villa a must, I feel although we love the idea of the water villas, I don't like that we can't just nip out of the room and you're on the beach!

We would be happy to go to a smaller, definitely not any bigger. We liked the peace and quiet and privacy at Kuredu, we were on the O' Resort which was the side of the island where no under 12's were allowed! There were times we were the only people by the pool, in the bar or even on the beach it was simply paradise. We want this again but slightly more if we can! Although would be happy with exact same level!

Hope this helps?

And froggyEngland I must agree, we most definitely have Maldivitus!

Issue may be budget depending on time of year. Sadly enough. May / June and nov are cheapest times.

Darryls suggestion of vila is a good one. Komandoo also springs to mind as its adult only and well regarded and smaller. Not sure if a beach villa would be in budget, but definetly worth looking, you never know....

Ps start saving for the third trip now,,,:))
