Malaysia - Currency - ATM Withdrawal on ABM AMRO Card

Hi all,

We are 2 weeks away from our Malaysia trip. Wanted to know the best way to arrange & purchase Malaysian Ringgit. Should we buy before we leave from India or buy in Malaysia? From the airport exchange bureau or outside?

Also, we have a ABN Amro WereldPas (world pass) debit card (maestro). Is it possible to withdraw cash from an ATM there - is the exchange rate better than exch. bureau and bank? What might be the additional charges?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers!

Hi,

You can take travelers cheque and cash with you.

Usually the exchange rate is worse at the airport. The best is to change a small amount at the airport and change the rest inKuala Lumpur. There is money changer at KLCC and Chinatown near Masjid Sultan.
