Which is the best place to buy handicrafts In Phnom Penh? as in wooden, stone sculptures etc etc. And can they ship it to us?
Hello Tamara B
The answer to your two questions is identical for Siem Reap and Phnom Penh and that answer is Artisans d'Angkor. You will see why when you visit their training centre and very large showroom at Siem Reap.
Artisans not only has a huge range of very fine stone and wood carvings but they also offer a complete packing, shipping, documentation, insurance and export service from point of sale through to your nominated port of delivery. From port of delivery in your country of receipt you need to appoint your own agent to effect customs clearance and delivery to point of receipt.
I have seen this in action as I assisted a person purchase a very large and heavy stone wall panel carving and a stone elephant for their home in Australia and it was shipped through the port of Sydney.
The other point you should note is that the main Artisans facility is at Siem Reap and this is where you will find the greatest selection of stock to chose from either off the showroom floor or in their warehouse there.
Best regards. Ian/Angkorlad
