Mr Ann at Global Travel has take care of travelnstuff for me and my hotel for more than ten years now, cannot recommend him enough, he is the man.
Strange that you didn't find any reviews, I see them now and then and they are always excellent.
My wife and I had a 17 night fully escorted private tour of southern Vietnam and Cambodia in April/May 2013. Having previously been to northern Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand on self guided trips we were recommended a tour operator based in Phnom Penh by friends. The company, Global Travel &Tours could not have been more helpful in organising our trip. We organised our flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Home from Phnom Penh, gave our wish list of places to see and a standard of hotel we like (4 star min.) and left the rest to Mr Ann at Global via email. Within 24 hours we had an initial itinerary. A few emails back and forward and we settled on a package which included all hotels with breakfast, private car with guide and driver, all day trips, airport transfers, entry fees, a few evening meals and two internal flights in Cambodia. Throughout the trip we didn't have a hitch and the guides were very accommodating and flexible to our requests to do more or less each day depending on our energy level. Lost count of the number of times we said "we would never have found this on our own" or "we would never have fitted so much in on our own" I would be happy to provide more details of our itinerary if required. The Hotels we stayed in were The Grand Hotel in Saigon, Victoria Hotels in Chau Doc and CanTho, The Plantation in Phnom Penh, The Borei Angkor Resort in Siem Reap, Sokha Beach Resort in Sihanoukville, and Knai Bang Chatt resort in Kep. Mr Ann met us for dinner on our final night in Phnom Penh and was very keen to find any ways in which he could improve his services.
In closing I would have no hesitation in reccommending Global to you and would definitely use them again.
We used Global Travel & Tours to organise our trip to Cambodia & Laos. We arranged our own flights from the UK to Phnom Penh (via Hong Kong) and Mr Ann arranged everything in Laos & Cambodia from meeting us on arrival at Phnom Penh & transferring us back to the airport at the end of our stay. Our itinerary was as follows:
We did 2 nights in Phnom Penh (at The Pavilion), drove to Siem Reap for 5 nights (at Shinta Mani), internal flight from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang for 4 nights (at 3 Nagas), drove to the Plain of Jars for 2 nights (at Vasana Plain of Jars), drove to Vang Vieng for 1 night, drove to Vientiane for 2 nights (at Settha Palace). Flew back to Phnom Penh & had one night in The Pavilion before catching our home ward flight the next day.
I had done quite a bit of research about Cambodia & Laos, so we gave Mr Ann quite detailed information on where we wanted to go, approximately how long and the hotels where we wanted to stay (except for Viang Vieng where we asked Mr Ann for a suggestion). I got my itinerary quoted on by 2 UK based operators who came out significantly more expensive.
All the arrangements for the holiday were perfect and we felt very well looked after by the 3 excellent & informative guides that we had during our stay. Overall I would rate the service as excellent and on a par with other tailormade holidays that we have previously taken. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to travel to SE Asia to contact Mr Ann. www.globaltravel-cambodia.com
We loved Cambodia & Laos and you can view my husbands photo's of the trip here => http://www.pbase.com/waldr_p/south_east_asia
Have you booked? Did you get any more recommendations? We are also considering using them, but want to make sure they are a reliable company.

We'll report after return.
My husband and I just came back from our trip to Cambodia (Nov. 9 - 17). We had initially booked a group tour with another company but it was cancelled due to not enough people joining the group. This ended up being a blessing in disguise as I ended up booking a private tour with Mr. Ann through Global Travel and Tours instead. My husband and I only had 9 days allotted for our time in Cambodia, so we tweaked the 10 day Cambodia in Depth tour itinerary to match what we wanted. I was really impressed with the promptness of Mr. Ann's replies to my inquiries. He was able to finalize the itinerary that I wanted in a matter of a couple of days of correspondence. I was also really impressed when Mr. Ann personally called me during the first day of my tour to ensure that everything was meeting my expectations and to wish me a good trip.
Needless to say, my husband and I had a fantastic time in Cambodia. We ended up having two sets of drivers and guides - one for Phnom Penh and the other, for Siem Reap. Both sets of drivers and guides were wonderful - we were really impressed with their levels of knowledge and their eagerness to please. The cars that were used during the tour were kept in immaculately clean with and there was always cold water available for us to drink. The hotels that were booked were central, clean and comfortable - all 4 stars.
Although we had a schedule for each day, our guides were quite flexible in amending the schedule or making an extra stop if we wanted to do something else in addition. Our guide in Siem Reap, Cheak Chuom, in particular, really went above and beyond for us - my husband really loves playing soccer and while hiking up to visit Kbal Splean, my husband engaged Cheak in a conversation about soccer. At one point of the conversation, Cheak offered to round up some friends so that my husband could play soccer while he was in Siem Reap. My husband took up his offer and Cheak did exactly what he offered - he got a bunch of his friends to meet up the following evening on a soccer field in Siem Reap and they all played soccer for an hour. My husband was so happy!
I would not hesitate to recommend Global Travel and Tours to anyone. They are very reliable and their service is top notch. I would use them again in my future travels in SE Asia.
From October 27th through November 11th 2013, we (3 couples) traveled through Vietnam and Cambodia. We had a private tour arranged by Mr. Ann from Global Travel. I found him very reliable and helpful. He answered every email promptly. I started working with him almost a year and a half before our trip. I know people say it’s easy to plan a trip yourself and that it’s cheaper. However, I did not want the responsibility of arranging everything and didn’t mind if it cost a little more. I never had to worry about the hotels being reserved or our airline tickets purchased or the driver or guide being there to pick us up. I also added up the costs of doing it myself and don’t feel that we paid that much more for Mr. Ann’s services. It was so nice being able to just relax and enjoy the experience without having to verify reservations and worry about the next leg of the journey. He helped me design our itinerary; he started with my initial request, made suggestions and then made adjustments at my request. Here is our final agenda:
Day 1-Arrived in Hanoi from the US
Day 2-Tour of Hanoi
Day 3-Drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay for cruise (2 night stay)
Day 4- Halong Bay
Day 5-Halong Bay, drive back to Hanoi, fly to Saigon
Day 6-Tour Cu Chi tunnels and Saigon
Day 7- Drive to Mekong River for cruise
Day 9-Siem Reap-temples
Day 10-Siem Reap-temples
Day 11-Siem Reap
Day 13-Phnom Penh- drive to Tatai (2 nights at floating lodge)
Day 15-Drive to Phnom Penh, fly home
It was nicely paced although it did involve quite a bit of travel. We were able to relax at the beginning in Halong Bay and then again at the floating lodge. We really got to see many different parts of both countries. Due to the heat in Siem Reap we did go back to the hotel early one afternoon and enjoyed the hotel’s pool. We liked all of the hotels that were chosen, they all included breakfast. I feel that we received very good value for the money. All of the guides were nice and very knowledgeable and the drivers safe. His price included: Private driver and guide, all admissions, hotels and domestic flights. Breakfast was included at each hotel, all meals while in Halong Bay, as well as a dinner and lunch one day. If you would like more information please feel free to email me.
Mr. Ann at Global Travel and Tours planned a wonderful vacation for me and my family. We were six people coming from three different locations. Mr. Ann and his family met us for lunch when we arrived and treated us to a lovely meal. When one of our suitcases did not arrive, Mr. Ann went to the local market and bought clothes for one of travelers until he could have the suitcase delivered to us a few days later in Sinoukville. After lunch we drove to the Four Rivers Floating Lodge on the Tatai River. This was one of the highlights of our trip as we stayed in lovely "tents" built out over the river. I cannot say enough about the hospitality at Four Rivers. We then drove to Sinoukville and stayed at the Sokha Resort. This was the only slightly disappointing part of our trip. It was over Christmas and by the time we arrived they had overbooked the "ocean view" rooms. Consequently, they upgraded us into three family bungalows. The bungalows were "interesting" built on stilts over a pond behind the rest of the hotel. Although the interiors were very nice the location was not ideal and far from the main hotel. We then went to the Knai Bang Chat Resort in Kep for two nights. This small resort was amazing. Their website does not do it justice. Although not ideal for an overly "active" family, it is perfect for relaxation and staring out at the beautiful sea. The service and food at Knai Bang was first-class and the chef trained with Michelin star chefs. On our way back to Phonm Penh our guide took us to Champa Lodge for lunch. The food was delicious and the view of the river was amazing. The german owner and his Cambodian wife grow their own organic greens. They cook to order which can take time but it was well worth the wait.
We arrived in Phnom Penh during the labor protests over the holidays. Our driver skillfully navigated back roads to find an alternative route to the Sofitel Hotel. We only spent one day in Phnom Penh before heading to Siem Reap but had to make a stop at Mike's Burger House. We were lucky enough to meet Mike who challenged us to compare his burgers with In-And-Out burgers..Mike won hands down! Not only are his burgers delicious, he is an absolute character.
We were met by our guide Mr. Riht in Siem Reap and stayed at the Victoria Resort and Spa for the next four nights. Mr. Riht was the best guide and learned very quickly how we operated and to understand our sense of humor. My children (18 and 15) by nature hate guided tours. They too found Mr. Riht charming and funny. The Victoria was a beautiful hotel filled with antiques. Our rooms had balcony's overlooked the courtyard and swimming pool. The breakfast at the Victoria was amazing and happy hour from 5-7 included half price drinks!
Finally, Mr. Ann booked us a private cooking class at the Shanti Mani Hotel and Institute of Hospitality. The chefs took us to the local market and then returned to the hotel to prepare an amazing four-course Khmer meal. All in all, a perfect vacation! Thanks Mr. Ann!
My husband and I just came back from our Southeast Asia trip (January 2014). Mr. Ann with Global Travel & Tours of Phom Penh, Cambodia, organized a very nice tour for us of Siem Reap/Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh and Bangkok. We were very pleased with all of the arrangements that M. Ann and his agency suggested or made for us. We are not backpackers. We enjoyed comfortable, charming and reasonably priced accommodations and knowledgeable guides. Mr. Ann's agency provided timely airport greetings and transfers as well as very experienced guides who were native to the countries and areas where they worked and who spoke very good English. The vehicles that his guides used were modern, always clean and always well stocked with fresh towels and bottled water. The drivers were courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. We could not have made similar arrangements for site-seeing, transfers, or tours without help of the sort that had we tried to do so starting on our arrival. It was also easy to pay Mr. Ann for his and his agencies services. He accepted a deposit by a bank wire transfer and the remaining balance by credit card. Mr. Ann telephoned us and our guide just before our departure for Bangkok. His follow up made certain that we were satisfied, and we greatly appreciated that.
In Siem Reap, we stayed at Pavillon D'Orient Boutique Hotel. We loved it! It was our favorite hotel -- beautiful site, feeling of charm, wonderful service and very friendly staff. In Phom Penh, we stayed at The Plantation Urban Resort -- very comfortable, good restaurant, excellent location. We highly recommend to visit Phom Penh!!!!! This city exceeded our expectations: colonial past, tragic recent history, good restaurants, lovely promenade along the river. In Bangkok, we stayed at a smaller hotel, Ariyasom Villa, which offers a tranquil atmosphere, delicious food, a pleasant pool and great masseuses.
We would not change anything about our trip except we would perhaps add a boat ride (about 6 hours) from Phnom Penh to Saigon (Ho Chi Min City) and spend a day or two in Vietnam before flying back to Bangkok. Overall, Mr. Ann did a fine job and proved to be reliable throughout our trip.
May be too late for you but might be helpful for other s planning ot travel to SouthEast Asia in the future.
Recently we (four couples) concluded a wonderful two week vacation in Thailand and Cambodia. We did our internet research and zeroed in on two tour agents. One of them was Mr. Ann from Cambodia. Within a couple of email exchanges, it was clear to us that Mr. Ann was the right agent for us. Mr. Ann was very quick with his replies and providing the information we had requested. He worked patiently with us to accommodate our itinerary change requests and to personalize a private tour for the 8 of us. We received quick and prompt replies to our emails and phone calls.
We stayed in hotels in Bangkok (5 nights), Chiang Mai (2 nights), Siem Reap (3 nights), Kep (2 nights) and Pattaya (1 night). All the hotels were very nice with good, clean rooms, good service, good amenities, awesome breakfast buffet etc. Our only disappointment was the hotel (Lotus Blanc Resort) in Siem Reap. The rooms were less than 3 star, hot water ran out in the middle of a shower etc. Considering how well everything else went on this trip, it didn’t seem like a big deal for us. Just a small inconvenience that we are about to forget. The only reason that I am mentioning it here is that people can ask for a better hotel to stay in Siem Reap.
We were met by an English speaking guide (Ms. Lucky in Bangkok, Ms. Nui in Chiang Mai, Mr. Rith in Siem Reap and another Mr. Rith in Phnom Penh). All the guides were very courteous, flexible and helpful. The day our Bangkok tour was to start, there was a scheduled Bangkok shutdown. Ms. Lucky rearranged our itinerary and took us to Ayuthaya that day so we did not waste a day in Bangkok. She helped us to book tickets to a dance show etc. all with a smile on her face.
Thailand and Cambodia are two beautiful countries to visit. We had a wonderful time everywhere we went and everyone in our group was extremely happy about all the arrangements made by Mr. Ann.
Finally, we met Mr. Ann in Phnom Penh. He had arranged a very nice lunch for us and came down to meet our group. Mr. Ann is a very pleasant person and he will go the extra mile to make your trip a pleasant and memorable one.
We would recommend Mr. Ann and Global travels whole heartedly to anyone who wants to vacation in Southeast Asia.
