Sent email to Sam last night, and for anyone interested he emailed this morning, his charges for a full day which includes the killing fields will be 45 dollars for a car, or 55 for a van. He as a website but prices outdated, on website prices are between 35 and 40 dollars.

Recieved a further email from Sam, with a quote of 40 dollars, when I suggested updating the prices on his website.

Do know that you can very very easily have your hotel or guesthouse book you a driver for your sightseeing. I use a tuk-tuk for all my business in Phnom Penh and never pay more than $15 a day (it will be a few $ more to head out to the Killing Fields though). $40 is over the top, IMO.

It seems each guest house charges different rates, as the place am staying in siem reap for five nites have quoted 15 dollars a day for tuk tuk, however the pavilion in phnom penn quoted 50 dollars lol

two different cities = 2 different prices

the going daily rate in Siem Reap (without sunrises & sunsets and ony including the temples on either the grand or small circuit) is $15. You add a couple of $$ for sunrise/sunset and negotiate a price for farther flung temples (eg Beng Melea)

Are you sure your PP quote was for a tuk tuk and not an a/c car?
