Is Armenia very wet in spring?

Hi, I am considering a two week trip to Armenia by the end of april and beginning of may. How is the weather in this period mostly? Is it still cold? And what about rainfall? The alternative would be in autumn. Is the weather a lot better then?

Hello,

It is true that there are showers in the spring, especially in March and April. You can probably find exact precipitation figures on the internet. Nevertheless, spring is a good time to visit, in terms of temperature (especially in May weather starts getting hotter and hotter). I'd say weather is similar to Washington, D.C. area in the USA. Fall is also a wonderful time to visit, as the summer heat will be gone, leaves will start getting color... I think you should check past weather conditions and based on that go with what you personally prefer.

But how rainy would it be? Drizzling without a real need for umbrella? Stormy? Or those non-stop type of pouring that can go for hours and hours?

Here's a reply to the previous comment: right now it is end of April and we are seeing some rainfall, coupled with really lovely, sunshine filled, almost-summer like day. The rainfall is nothing too scary, and does not go on for hours. Usually skies are clear again within a few hours. I would categorize it as a "moderate spring rain", rather than a storm. One thing is for sure though, it you are visiting in the spring, pack an umbrella!
