Renting a house in Nha Trang

Hi

My husband and I are looking to rent a 2-3 bedroomed house in Nha Trang for about 3 months in March 2014. Does anyone know if this is possible and of any good websites we could use; also any tips.

Many thanks

L

Hi Linda, were just back from nha trang, there's signs up everywhere on lamppost for houses/apartments for rent, you'll have no problem finding a place that suits you, your best bet is to book into a hotel for a night or so and get the lay of the land and see what's out there. We stayed in capre dm hotel(fantastic and great price) as you walk from the main road to the hotel on the walls of buildings there's signs for houses for rent plus there was 3 buildings full of apartments for rent. You won't be stuck.

Finding and renting a house for three months might be tough. Owners are generally looking for six months (minimum) or a year. More available would be the serviced apartments or "condos". Go here for specialty lodging. Mixed in this bunch of recommendations will be places that might meet your requirements:

tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g293928-c3-Nha_Trang_…

Otherwise, walk around the tourist area, or even areas north of the Tran Phu bridge, and look for advertisements on the sides of buildings as Ray suggested above. Good luck and Happy travels!

There are plenty of houses and apartments available for renting, but 3 months is a bit short and it might prove difficult. Most lamp post ads are age old and as soon as a foreigner appears, the rent suddenly doubles. If you know someone local you'd best send them scouting.

The best way is to plan to stay 1-2 weeks in a hotel while you find a place, although that would eat into your 3 months.

Small, furnished hotel apartments (1.5 rooms) start at $300 a month. Larger places are at least $5-700/month. Add about $35/month for internet and utilities.

All rates quoted are approximates. A single room with no furniture starts at $35 a month. That's how many locals with no means live. Up to 5 in one room. So you see, the people renting houses and apartments don't exactly lose money.

Wow guys thank you for responding so quickly.....I will certainly take your advice. I think staying initially in a hotel is probably the best way forward and then searching, an apartment may well be the best option hopefully with some outdoor space!!

I'll check out those links too.

Many thanks

There are rental places to be found out of the tourist areas for half the cost. Check out the areas of Xom Moi, Vinh Phuoc, and Vinh Hai for decent places to live. Many of the better restaraunts and fun times with a University and 4 colleges are north of the river. A great area to live.
