Hi folks,

in trouble. Leaving for my honeymoon in three weeks. I rang trailfinders about visa and they said I need to send my passport to there visa section for at least ten working days. My girlfriends passport won't be with us for at least a week.

I thought I read you can buy a visa at the airport. In on Oz for two weeks can I do it there? Was ment to go to phu quac for 6 nights and hcmc for two nights and was really looking forward to it. Trailfinders visa section said I can't get visa on arrival. Need advice.

Thank you

If you are flying into an international airport (Saigon, Hanoi and Da Nang) you can pick up a visa on arrival.

Just do an internet search Visa On Arrival Vietnam. Lots of agents, all done on-line and no need to send your passport to anyone. Fill in the info, they will then get you an approval letter, print off and follow the instructions. I used myvietnamvisa.com but plenty of others about. Approval letter takes about 3 days max even over a weekend.

Trailfinders visa needs to update it section!

Wouldn't know about getting it done in Oz re time wise etc.

relax.............

Of course tou can get a visa on arrival, easy and cheap.Should take 3/4 days tops to get the approval letter e-mailed to you and just print it.

Use the TA search box at top of page for more info.Put in VOA,that should do the trick.Or google Vietnam visa on arrival.

Bertie you beat me there by 2mins:-)

I know what I would tell trailfinders to do_______________

Am sure you will get it all sorted out and have a great honeymoon in Aus and Vietnam.Vietnam is good value for money and the weather is great.Enjoy and let us know how it went.

No worries. It's easy, fast and dirt cheap getting a pre-approved letter for your visa through one of the reputable online agencies as the above suggested, only good if you're flying into one of the int'l airports in Vietnam. Just be noted that many of the recent reports stated that it took quite a lot of time getting your passport stamped with visa at the airport in Saigon, so I personally believe it would work out better in Hanoi.

I used Aurora Travel (Vietnamstay.com) last year and had nothing to complain about. I'd doubt if any of the other companies can beat their great customer service.

Best of luck

Guys thats brillant advice and its what i needed to hear. I have been looking at other visa posts on hear but got a fright when Trailfinders told me otherwise and the visa section too. You would think they would know. My flights are booked and fly in HCMC at 9.15 and fly out to Phu Quoc at 12.40. Do you think i have enough time to complete this?

Going to a good few places and never being here Vietnam and Phu quoc seems like a gem and an old school Samui so Im really looking forward and doing two nights in HCMC.

Thanks again.

It took me 15mins to get my VOA stamped into my passport at the airport. So you should be fine.Just make sure you have passport pics and $25(new bills)there is one other small form to fill in upon arrival. You can download it from the internet(Bertie knows where to find it)and away you go

Your connection to Phu Quoc seems plenty as there is only a short distance between International and Domestic terminals. Clearing HCMC formalities is very efficient. Perhaps Trailfinders were thinking you are applying for a visa using your passport whilst in OZ, which used to be forbidden. I'm surprised a professional organisation can give you such advice.

http://www.myvietnamvisa.com/form-on-arrival.pdf

is the form you need to fill in when you get to the airport. I'd suggest filling it in before you arrive. Otherwise you might have to queue up, get the form, fill it in and then queue up again.

Yeah thats exactly what happened to me,but I still got through in 15mins and had to wait for my bags.Get off the plane as quick as you can and try to get to the VOA desk as quickly as you can.
