Metropole Hotel

Hi All,

Has anyone stayed here recently, any feedback most appreciated.

Our travel agent has come up with a very good rate for staying here.

Cheers,

Stewie.

Got a supplier staying there at the moment, he's very impressed with it. It's run by Liberty Hotels who are a very good local manaagement company. Location is OK, 5 mins out of the centre of HCMC but only a short walk from the bars, cafes & restaurants of the backpacker district.

Hi,

My travel agent in Perth , Austalia has quoted $88 Aussie per night for a Triple Room including breakfast.

This is for June 2009.

Cheers,

Stewie.

Hi Stewieperth,

Thanks for sharing. I will check the converting rate from Aussie to US dollar. If the rate is $ 1US = $1 Aussie, then the rate is awesome for triple.

Does this rate including all the taxes? VN hotel tax is a lot!!!.

Hi Stewie,

Travel Agents in Aus usually quote per person - is this definitely total for 3 persons? If it is - grab it!!!!

I stayed there for 5 nights in August. I stayed on one of the club floors in the new wing so can only speak for that. But the metrolpole was easily my favorite hotel of my time in Vietnam (I'm comparing to Le Residence in Hue, Nam Hai in Hoi An, and Park Hyatt in HCMC all of which I enjoyed). If I go back to Hanoi, I'm definitely staying there again. The only thing I'd advise is to check whether the hotel's still doing renovation and, if so, make sure you get a room that's not affected. A few areas of the hotel are quite noisy until late in the night. I switched rooms after a couple hours and never noticed the noise again.

Just noticed you're referring to a HCMC hotel. My last response was referring to the metropole in hanoi. Sorry about that.
