mekong Delta for a day

I know most of you recommend Mekong Delta for an overnight but we don't have time. For a 1 day trip what's the best place to go? Should we do a private tour i.e. use Jason or someone like that or should we book a tour with the real Sinh cafe ?

Cheers

DEAR MAID MARIAN

it will be so squishy , trying to fit it in , in one day .

it truelly is a personal choice , dpends how much you want to spend and your comfort requirements.

i chose to go private , only because i couldn't handle the thought of being stuck in a bus with a bunch of strangers all day , for 2 days ( we done the over nighter ) .

i was so glad i did , because when wew got to the ferry to go over to can tho , whilst sitting in the que , in the car , the hawkers where horrific .....if anyone thinks ninh binh is bad for hawkers , go stand here for 5 minutes , there like voltures . i was so glad i was in the car , but it was that bad that the driver even locked all our doors ...... on the other hand , everyone who was on a bus had to get off the bus and walk onto the ferry , they were not allowed to stay on it while the bus entered and exited the ferry . ..... i felt so sorry for them , they were all swarmed.

anyway , thats might bit of excitment on my trip , not sure if you would head that way or not , but i thought i would share that with you and give you food for thought ...you can find out if you go there , then choose ...car / bus

cheers

Hey Batt fancy seeing you here. Haven't I met you somewhere else. I know it will be squishy trying to fit it in on one day but I've promised the lad 1 day at Dem Sem Park . OK OK I really want to go there too

I'm thinking maybe a private car but I'm not sure where to go .

Cheers MM

Ok all jokes aside muggles, definitely agree with the fruit Bat on this one......... We had the same issue with Hawkers I forgot all about it. They were trying the handles on the doors and everything, banging on the windows, swarming is a really good description of it. Our driver just locked our doors automatically as soon as we jumped in all the time - made us feel real VIP like!!! But it was there where we realised why.......

Re your 14 yo, there was 1 person there missing both hands, and they just banged their stumps (at their wrists) over & over on the window. It was really really confronting. Traffic wise you are qued and gridlocked so you can't get away. Much worse than at the Muesum, and the Agent Orange victims there were fairly pushy too. Just thought you should prepare him for that. I don't think the bus is good considering you have to get off and walk onto the ferry. (I didn't know that Fruit Bat!) Maybe that Guide Tien could help you with a car and driver, or I could give you the guy we had -very very sincere and honest, (probably too honest !!!!)

hi all

i used tonkin travel to book my mekong trip , driver very curtious as was guide . . not that cheap , but i didnt have to leave the car , windows where up , aircon on , doors locked .

i was stuck there for an hour or more SOOOOOOO SCAREY , your right ,they do bang on the windows and try to get in the doors .

yes we saw everyone walking to ferry , so we asked the guide what they where doing , he told us because of the huge dip getting onto the ferry , all people have to get off or the bus wont make it on there...bottom out ....so they have to walk on .

i was hanging for a fag , but i wasnt game enough to leave the car ...and that says a lot for me , to not get out and have a fag ...it must have been bad !

but i totally recommend tonky travel , ,just email martin or ly for a quote , just tell them rattbag batt sent ya and your sure to get top notch dinkey dye A1 serice ...probably because your an aussie and all that .

cheers

Booking a ONE DAY tour of the Mekong - which will allow you to visit many factory outlet stores and learn the art of candy manufacturing - using a HA NOI Agent has to be one of the most unwide things to do.

Only HCMC travel agents know the latest poop of who is good and who is bad or which bus is broken down.

And apart from using unsuitable travel agents ALSO AVOID DELTA TOURS - a long history of unhappiness.

Why not take a return Flying Fish boat journey to Can Tho - much more fun - from the docks at the riverside at the end of Ham Nghe and NO agent needed.

Ha Noi agents ...!
