Hi Chez,

The most popular airline to Da Nang should be Vietnam Airlines.

Hi Maz1

How are you.....we actually were compensated (free stay with all priviliges again etc etc ) for 5 nights at the Hotel in Bangkok that we became ill in and will be going back over there in 2008 plus maybe going to Vietnam for a couple of days just making the most of the fact that we are over in that direction.

Merry Christmas will check out your review.

Cheers Cheryl

You're welcome, Cheryl. Someone says Vietnam Airlines is cheap. For me they are expensive :-)

If you stay in Thanh Xuan, do post a review in the hotel part to help other travelers.

Have a great trip!

hi chez-that is fair enough too - it great that they at least compensated you, after all, it could have potentially ruined your whole trip.

You are making the right decision going over to Vietnam- we had such a fantastic time in Hanoi- do take a few days to go up to Sapa- it was the highlight of our whole trip- something not to be missed, truly.

we loved it so much we hopefully (maybe) are going to do almost the exact same trip this year sometime - i.e. Singapore-Vietnam-Bangkok because as you said, whilst you're over there, you just might as well- travelling inbetween those countries is so cheap. The difference- next time we will also go to HoiAn and Saigon.

btw - do take a few days to go up to Sapa- you will not regret it- it was the highlight of our whole trip no joke!

We've got friends going to hanoi this week and they are staying at a new hotel in the old quarter- much cheaper than the Melia - they'll be back in three weeks and if you remind me I will let you know what it was like- if it's as good as expected, that is where we will stay next time.(i think maybe it's 3 star but not quite sure yet)

well, the rains just came- it was such a welcome relief - we've had days of such hot weather. I hope it helped with the fires.

again- hope you have a happy christmas and happy and healthy new year.

regards

Hi again, we plan to do BKK for 2 nights, Vietnam for say 3/4 and then BKK for the remaining 3 nights. Because were in the hub, so to speak in BKK just wanted to kick back and do the beach sort of thing in Vietnam...??? Thought originally about Hanoi then thought Danang or Hoi An could be resorty...? Any suggstions not wanting to do the 5 star thing in this part of the holiday but just be normal (whats that)

Saw this Hotel for next to nothing is rated Number 1 in Tripadvisor Reviews its only about $30USD and beats all the expnsive ones.

have a look and then see the reviews, you may or may not like it too. Seems cheap enough and right next to the township so to speak.

Let me know what you think

hi chez

that hotel looks absolutely lovely- but....... I reckon it's all too much trouble to leave thailand for 3-4 days- think about the effort of getting to the airport at least 2 hours before- hoping the plane will be on time (budget airlines are notorious for being late and sometimes very late) - packing and unpacking- taxis back and forth - nah,

if it were me, and I couldn't go for a decent amount of time, I would consider HuaHin or somewhere closer to Bangkok -

just my thoughts-
