Purchasing Train Tickets

We will be in Vietnam in August. We would like to take the day train Hue to Danang when we are in this area. Can we purchase these tickets in Hanoi about 5 days before the trip .. and is this an easy task or should we have some one from our hotel help us out.

Because of the Hue airport closure I was thinking this trip may be a little more busy. Appreciate any thoughts on this thanks.

You can ask the staff in hotel in Hanoi.

They will assist you with this.

It's easy and cheaper when purchase the tickets in advance.

Good luck.

Train ticket should be booked in advance from Hanoi but I think you can buy bus ticket from Hue to Danang as it is more convenient and easier.

Yes, if the airport is closed, I highly recommend making more queries. At $4 a ticket, you don’t have much to lose by purchasing early.

It’s a 2.5 - 4 hour trip depending what train you take. You will probably want a soft seat in an air-conditioned carriage, which means you want to take the SE1 train which departs Hue at 08:02, the SE19 departs at 09:55, the SE3 departs at 10:50, the SE5 departs at 06:12. The SE7 runs only during busy times (holidays or maybe even now with the Hue airport closure). The ticket is about $4 each way. There’s a couple email links contained in the page below. More here:

Good luck and Happy travels!

It is easy for you to have the ticket for transfer from Hue to Da Nang , it takes 3 hours for transfer. You can ask the assistance from your hotel in Hue. It is the easiest for you to collect your ticket.
