Is it ok to give Hanoi Kids a money donation?

We were originally told Hanoi kids were unavailable for our dates so haven't come prepared with gifts which I would have preferred.

We have just found out we can have a tour with them tomorrow. Obviously we will cover any transport and food costs but was just wondering if it would be appropriate to give them money and if so what would be a reasonable amount? Having only just arrived this afternoon we are still getting our head around the money side of things.

Thanks for any suggestions.

There was a time when the Hanoi Kids would refuse to take any money at all because it was firmly against the ethos of the club. They still won't take any for themselves but there have been recent reports of them accepting donations to help with the administrative costs of the club.

A large amount wouldn't be appropriate, but other than that the decision as to how much is up to you if you really do want to make a donation.

By the way they never expect gifts either, but they really enjoy their free lunches and the occasional soft drink, tea or coffee.

I agree, and also sent them a small donation a few years ago. Everyone has incidental costs such as ISP fees, etc.

they are wonderful kids, enjoy!
