3 nights in Hanoi

Hi,

Flights are all booked and the itinerary in terms of when we move from place to place is all set. Just starting to look in a bit more detail at the things we might like to do in each of the places now, starting with Hanoi.

We arrive in Hanoi on a Sunday, mid afternoon and I imagine will be pretty tired after a 25 hour journey so I’m thinking we shouldn’t make too many plans for that first day, just maybe check into our hotel, nap, freshen up, find a good spot to sit and have a couple of drinks and an early dinner before getting some sleep so we’re ready for the next 3 days.

We then have all day Monday and Tuesday to explore. We’ve had a think about the things we’d like to see but I’m not sure how long any of these would take, which ones are located close to each other so make sense to combine and plus I think some things are closed on a Monday. I’ve had a go but would appreciate any comments:

Monday

Hoan Kiem Lake & Ngoc Son Temple

Old Quarter

Ancient House

Hoa Lo Prison

Tuesday

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & Ho Chi Minh Museum (are they worth it?)

One pillar pagoda

Military History Museum

Flag tower

Temple of Literature

Thanks for your help.

Some great advice in the above, but if i may add one suggestion, it would be to take a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake at around 6:00am, amazing sight of all the locals doing their morning exercises around the lake.

We have just left Hanoi & thought our 6 nights would be to long, but we could have quite easily stayed another ay or so.

Will post a blog when i return home.
