Weather in November in Vietnam and Cambodia

Should travel in these areas in the month of November be avoided because of the high number of rainy days ? Are these passing showers or real soggy days that the weather charts indicate ?

I travel at that time. It's next to impossible to avoid all rain in SE Asia - many different regions with differing weather patterns. On the Central Coast in Vietnam, it's my belief that your chances of avoiding typhoon weather is better in the second half of Nov. I know nothing of Cambodia, but I can tell you that Laos was hotter than hell in late Nov '10 and completely dry.

Who on earth can predict weather in this day and age - who knew that Chicago would have beach weather in March?

It depends on what part of Vietnam you are talking about. For Hanoi and the north November is a perfect time to travel-- the weather is not too hot or too cold and rain is minimal. In the central coast of Vietnam though it is a bad time to visit because of all the rain and the potential for typhoons.

I would like to say that the weather in Vietnam those days is really suitable to travel. It has a little climate changes between fall and winter and it has to say that there is no rain, no typhoon and no tour delay or canceling of course.

So enjoy!

For North of Vietnam, the weather is the best all year time, on the contrary the weather in north is quite bad, maybe rain anytime during these days.

In Cambodia, dry season runs from October to April annually, it's a little bit cool in November without rain.

We flew into Hanoi on the 25th October . Unfortunately a typhoon came across from the Phillipines so was unable to stay out overnight on the Junk at Halong Bay. Managed a trip out to see the caves, such a beautiful place to visit. Flew to Saigon on the 28th then by boat to Siem Reip, no rain except overnight one night. November is a good time to go. Still very hot and humid in Seim Reip, very welcome airconditoning when we got back to the boat and Hotels.
