Noi bai airport hotel will be suitable for you.
Good luck!
The trip from airport to town takes only 40 – 50 minutes. I understand you’ll fly the next day about 9 – 10am. If so, you can stay in town to have good foods and drinks. If you depart your hotel at 6am, you’ll reach Noi Bai Airport before 7am.

Will the transport service be good at 6am in the morning. What mode of transport would you recommend? Any idea how much a taxi would be?
Takkie,
No problem at all. Hanoi is up by 5am. Don’t worry.
We went by taxi to the airport about 6am in Nov 2007. We booked and paid to our hotel the previous night. They charged the same amount with the official airport taxi company. I was worried if the driver would have asked me to pay again when we reached the airport but he didn’t.
I’ve heard the current fare is 18US$. You will know that when you arrive at the airport. At the taxi stand, there’s a signage saying “taxi to town . . . US$ or . . . VND for 4 seat and . . . for 7 seat”. No extra fee.
Btw, what time is your flight?
Thanks for all your advice, really appreciate it. My flight is 9am so probably need to be at airport around 7am ish. I am going to Laos but I am back in Vietnam a week later volunteering for a month. I just can't decide should I stay at airport or go into Hanoi. I can prob book accommodation from the airport, right?
Just leave your hotel at 6am sharp.
Yes you can book with tour companies in the airport but you may not get a good value. If that’s urgent, I recommend you use the public phone at the airport (if you don’t use mobile phone) to phone some good hotels people recommend in the forums or in hotel section. Get that ready before you take a taxi or they’ll think “Here comes a sucker” hahahhahahah (sorry if that sounds rude but I can’t stop laughing at the word)
If you’re back later, you don’t need to go into town tomorrow. Waste of time. I haven’t stayed at the Noi Bai Airport Hotel so I can’t comment.
In case you want to book accommodation for a downtown hotel with a travel company inside Noi Bai Airport, take their card with phone number so you can ask them to give you another hotel if room is lousy. That happened to us. Worse than looking for a hotel yourself (walking in).
