Cycling Dalat to Nha trang?

I am considering renting a bike and cycling from Dalat to Nha trang. Could anybody suggest any companies that I could rent from and would I be able to leave the bike with them when I arrive in Nha trang?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Matt,

Dalat to Nha Trang was a fantastic cycle ride - one of the best I've ever done. It's 140km in total & the 1st 45 to 50km isn't easy with a lot of climbing up to the pass.

The 50km freewheel down is absolutely sublime & then a final 40km or so on flat roads into Nha Trang.

No guesthouses on the entire route. Some basic services on the way to the pass but for the mid 50km there's no services at all - not even water sellers. I was glad I'd stocked up with 2 litres of water & had some buscuits in my bag.

There is a few restaurants at the end of the freewheel down (100km in, 40km to go).

Hope this helps, sorry don't know about hiring bikes - I'd brought my own one from Phnom Penh.

Unless you want a nice ride like an 18 speed racer with compact gearing you might want to consider buying a simple 21 gear Asama cross bike. They're 4.4 million new and you could probably pick up one for 1.5. Sell it off in Nha Trang. They're heavy though.

That 18 speed racer is hard to come by if you want a decent size frame. And a new one is no less than 11 million.
