Easy Riders by 4x4 Jeep

Being an older couple we wanted the "easyrider" experience from Dalat to Hoi An (6 days) but weren't sure about 6 days on the back of a bike. We eventually found a guy called Kiet Le Hung (calls himself Lee for ease). Over emails we were impressed with the work Lee put in to explain everything to us with complete transparency. He suggested an itinerary but said we could also play-by-ear. He could give us a package price per day or we could pay for our own meals and accommodation. We decided on the package and left everything in Lee's hands. Best choice we ever made. He also only asked for a modest deposit through Paypal (not some huge amount to be sent to a bank in Vietnam like others). Knowing we were older he phoned ahead to make sure the hotels were quiet. Lee has a good grasp of English and took us on a historical, cultural and gastronomical tour of the highlands of Vietnam. He explained that each town/area has its own speciality food-wise and frankly, there's no way we could have found the eateries by ourselves. He's pretty funny and great to hang out with too. A large part of Vietnam is cottage industry and I believe we went to each one. Family run businesses where we felt very at home and the people were able to explain about their lives and work. We saw waterfalls, minority villages and even went to an area that still has elephants in the wild and some are used for work. I cant recommend Lee highly enough if you want someone honest, transparent, a hard working family man and someone you can have fun with. His website is www.easyrider.vn but because he is so good most of his business is through word of mouth. His email is leeridervietnam@gmail.com and his cell phone is 0918 593311

After having difficultly in choosing among too many tour companies, at last we decided to contact with Kiet Le Hung in website: www.easyrider.vn, for a 4WD tour in the central highland of Vietnam, when Kiet (call himself Lee) came to pick us up from our hotel (we are husband and wife), at the first sight when we saw him with his car , Wow it was a way we are looking for. We traveled with him 6 days to from Da Lat to Hoi An on a 1965's military jeep, The drive was very safe, Mr Lee showed us aspects of Vietnamese life on the way that we would not have found ourselves. We stay in a good accommodation (including M'nong long house).

The journey was hard work but it was an excellent introduction to Vietnam, It was particularly good to eat in Vietnamese restaurants and learn what to order, how to eat!

We loved the insights into Vietnamese life - the silk factory, brick making, farming, mushroom...

Excellent trip.

If you do go with Kiet (which you should!) ask him about the three legged dod and the duck in the cinema!
