Very useful info.
We are in Rach Gai looking for an easy way to Saigon.
A warning for anyone coming from Chau Doc to Rach Gai. We got conned by a travel office and cafe called Tourist cafe and travel across from the river front. We booked a mini bus to Rach Gai at $7 each x 3 and picked up at hotel. The ONLY time they said they could pick us up was at 6.35am.
An old mini bus turned up at the hotel full of people and no room for our bags. After some pushing we all got in and 5 miles down the road was told to pay 50,000vnd for each bag or get out. We had to pay.
We found out that the new type of mini buses were running about 3 times a day and we were conned.
As always it wont happen again.. Also take care in Phnom Phen, Cambodia. White tourists being attacked and robbed by motor bike gangs.
Good travels.. Paul (UK)
